It's pretty small so my trick to using it is to always fill a bit under the line then add my matcha and shake, hold a paper towel over the release button because I never know if I'll get splash back. Dump it in a nice big mug, I then rinse out any remaining powder with more hot water and add to the mug, then too off with my milk alternative of choice. It works well if you just do it in tiny batches. Also the basket thing is hard to clean since there is no way to get the ball out for a proper wash so soaking works well.
