Within the highlands of Malawi, Africa, lies a third-generation family-owned tea garden with an eye for quality and innovation. Their latest creation? Barrel Aged Malawi, a rich & malty black tea naturally scented over the course of several weeks in whisky barrels from a small distillery in Cape Town, South Africa. The result is an alcohol-free but still deeply aromatic blend with notes of oak, stewed red fruits, warming spices and a lingering finish of caramelized sugars that only seems to deepen as you sip. We’re thrilled to carry this limited-edition blend made in very small batches.

Smooth & slightly mineral with rich notes of oak, malt, stewed red fruits and a hint of warming spices. The subtle taste of caramelized sugars and barrel-aged whisky become more prominent as the tea cools.

Disappointing

"Very weak – Not getting any of the described "fruit, warm spice, caramel or oak" notes & minimal aroma. Much prefer Kenyan Tinderet or even the David’s Breakfast Blend. Also noted that our tea package indicated “Medium” caffeine but the website shows “High”."
